     Velie Burial Grounds 1648 Rt 9G, Hyde Park, NY 12538

          LOCATION: Two miles north of East Park, on the farm of A. and P. Tompkins near the Creek road.  Behind Maurer Motors
          CONDITION: Overgrown and deserted; the enclosing walls in ruin.
          INSCRIPTIONS: 26 in number. Copied in April, 1913, by J. W. Poucher, M.D.
          REMARKS: Unnamed ground; four stones dated prior to 1800.
          Earliest burial is 1778 and last burial is 1876. Surnames are: Butler, Craw, Hadden, Herrick, Hustus, Montross, Nelson, Schlechtern, Vandyke, Velie
          Youngest: Emma Eliza Hadden: 1-4-24
          Oldest: Margaret Herrick: 84 no stone, Thomas Hadden: 72-5-5 from stone
